OUR HISTORY

       Bank 360 has been in business for over 50 years starting from a small Savings and Loan to

       having over $40  million in assets.  Here is a brief history on how the bank grew and evolved

       into Banking...Full Circle.

  • April 1954 - Carll Lauxmann, C.O. Peterson, Virgil Carlson, Ludwig Johnson, Ole Stene, Jr. and A. R. Olson formed an association with the goal of starting a Savings and Loan
  • July 14th, 1955 - First Federal Savings and Loans officially established in Beresford, SD with $163,843 in starting assets
  • June 30th, 1956 - First Federal assets soar over 330% to $541,000
  • 1967 - First Federal seeks to expand.  Identifies need to move financial records from manual accounting system to a computer processing system before expansion.
  • March 1974 - Entire operation converted to computer services
  • 1975 - First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Beresford opens a branch in Yankton, SD
  • March 1977 - Beresford office expands
  • 1978 - First Federal opens another branch in Mitchell, SD
  • Spring 1980-New facility for Mitchell Branch opens new 2,000 square foot facility to new innovations like drive-up teller and off-street parking
  • Spring 1981 - New branch opens in Wagner, SD bringing the community its first Savings and Loan
  • October 1981 - New branch opens in downtown Parkston, SD
  • December 1981 - New branch opens in Brookings, SD
  • 1990s - First Federal reorganizes its operation selling four of its branches to strengthen its core offices in Beresford and Yankton
  • 1998 - Current President Jay A. Frink appointed
  • February 2001 - First Federal opens branch in Elk Point, SD
  • March 2001 - First Federal launches its first website
  • 2001-2002 - Branch opens in Truck Towne Plaza and ATMs added to Yankton, Elk Point, Beresford offices as well as Truck Towne and Fiesta Food to improve convenience
  • 2005 - First Federal Bank of Beresford has over $40 million in assets
  • 2008 - First Federal Bank changes name to Bank 360 and remains the only mutual savings bank in South Dakota
